10 Horror Movies Where You Don't See The Monster Until The End

7. The Woman

The Woman
Bloody Disgusting

Sticking with films from the early 2010s that feature feral children, The Woman from 2011 features Chris Cleek, who's just about the worst person you'll ever meet.

As well as being a bigot and a sexist, Cleek is extremely abusive towards his wife and three kids, and things get worse when he captures an escaped cultist and attempts to "civilise" her - which is just as horrific as it sounds.

Just when you think Cleek can't get any more deplorable, his darkest secret is revealed when he kidnaps one of his daughters' teachers. Audiences are led to believe that he is going to feed her to his rabid dogs, only for the reveal to come that the teacher is actually food for Socket, Cleek's fourth child who has reverted to an animal-like state.

It's difficult to describe Socket as "the monster" when this film is full of deplorable individuals, but aesthetically, she is by far the most disturbing. Her reveal comes at the end of a very tough movie to watch - this is not one for a cosy Sunday afternoon.
