10 Horror Movies Where You Never See The Villain

7. Cube

The Entity Barbara Hershey
Trimark

Cube offers up an entirely different kind of unseen villain, as the movie revolves around five strangers who wake up inside a gigantic interlocking cube with no knowledge of how they got there.

With most of the cube's rooms containing gnarly death traps, there's no obvious means for the victims to escape, and even though they do eventually manage to navigate a way to the edge of the cube, we're never told who or what created the bizarre structure.

The end credits roll immediately after sole survivor Kazan (Andrew Miller) escapes, leaving fans to ponder both who created the cube and why.

Much like The Blair Witch Project, however, that shrewd veil of mystique was largely undone by the follow-up movies, which revealed that the cube was created by a defense contractor called Izon and was eventually operated by a totalitarian government.
