10 Horror Movies You Never Knew Spawned A Trilogy

1. From Dusk Till Dawn

Everyone remembers that moment in From Dusk Till Dawn, when it goes from a crime-ridden road movie to a vampiric battle royale in the blink of an eye and bite of the neck. It's a completely unexpected veer left that you don't even have time to question because it's too much fun watching a guy with his crotch revolver wipe out a bunch of ravenous vampires.

Now, just like the vampire twist in the original movie, nobody saw a trilogy coming. A long time before we got that decidedly average series on Netflix there were two movies that followed the original. The first was From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money, a movie about bank robbers who become vampires, but still decide to rob a bank anyway. For a movie about bloodsucking monsters of the night, there's a whole lot of gunplay and it's rather dull. Despite the poor reviews, another movie was made and released the following year named From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter, and can you believe it, another horror prequel. This entry focused on the origin of Santanico Pandemonium, the vampire erotically played by Salma Hayek in the original. Don't get your hopes up though - despite a story from Robert Rodriguez himself, the movie sports a meagre 4.7 rating on IMDb and marks a disappointing end to a trilogy of vampire movies. Much like The Lost Boys and John Carpenter's Vampires, they should have left it at the original.
