10 Horror Movies You Won't Believe Are Coming Out

After the success of slasher Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, it was inevitable that more popular public domain characters were going to get the low-budget exploitation horror movie treatment.

And many filmmakers were evidently salivating when the original Steamboat Willie version of Mickey Mouse entered the public domain at the start of 2024, ensuring that less than a year later, the market had already been flooded with an obscene number of Mickey-starring slashers.

While you might've expected a couple of Mickey Mouse horrors to swiftly enter production, to date we've already had Mickey's Mousetrap, while countless more are on the way - Screamboat, Mouseboat Massacre, The Mouse Trap: Welcome to The Mickeyverse, Mickey's Slayhouse, Mouse of Horrors, and most hilariously, Mickey vs. Winnie.

It goes without saying that the public domain IP slasher trend is already feeling tired and played-out, and so it's unlikely that the majority of these films will see much success, no matter how cheaply they're made.
