The Movie

As if the first instalment in Tom Six’s rectum-based body horror wasn’t enough, he hit up cinema screens with a sequel just two years later basically set around the same premise as the original – deranged dude kidnaps people and surgically fuses them together mouth to bottom – except this time with more anuses and more gore.

Oh, and it’s meta and artfully shot in black and white (joke: there’s nothing arty about The Human Centipede II).

Why You’ll Never Watch It Again

When you’ve already pretty much pushed the boundaries of taste even for the hardiest horror fan, there’s only way you can go: hard or home. Unfortunately, Six went hard upping the victim count and throwing some pretty nasty scenes (some of which are confined only to the uncut version, luckily) including masturbating with sandpaper, the bloody aftermath of a bludgeoned face and a graphic birth scene followed by an even more brutal newborn’s death.

Whereas the gimmick may have worked in the first Human Centipede film, second time around with the gore ante upped to extreme levels, it’s just plain grim.
