10 Horror Reveals Nobody Was Ready For

3. Brain Transplants - Get Out

With his directorial debut Get Out, Jordan Peele shot himself to modern-day horror superstardom. Impressively, as well as winning praise and plaudits from fans and critics alike, Get Out also took home two Academy Awards - which is something largely unheard of for any movie with even a tinge of horror to it.

In Peele's 2017 offering, what starts off as a simple story of a young woman introducing her boyfriend to her parents, soon takes a shocking twist thanks to a game-changing final act reveal.

That reveal is that Rose's family specialise in transplanting brains. Not just that, but the family are paid by elderly white people to have their brain and spirit implanted into younger black people - with those new vessels seeing their own conscience left in the limbo-like Sunken Place as part of this procedure.

Throughout Get Out, you're always a little on edge that something isn't quite right about the whole situation that Daniel Kaluuya's Chris finds himself in, and it's refreshing that he himself is likewise smart enough to know that something is off, but nobody could've predicted just how Get Out would play out upon a first watch.
