10 Horror Short Films Hollywood Should Adapt To Full Length

1. Don't Look Away

With a fascinating premise and a fun, family-oriented twist, this particular film by Christopher Cox is similar to It Follows in its mysterious and unknowable monster premise, but with smart protagonists finding ingenious ways to side-step a strange force trying to murder them, just by listening to each other and communicating—something horror fans know is a rare thing in typical Hollywood horror.

The film involves protagonist Savannah and her brother Jim seeing a strange man on their lawn, with Savannah telling her father about it on the phone, only for her father to urgently order her to not look away from the man and for her brother to lock all the doors in the house. However, with both siblings staring at the creature, Savannah is forced to look away to lock the house up while Jim keeps watch, which has unexpectedly dire consequences.

With a father that knows exactly what to do to deal with an unknowable horrific force, paired with Savannah's problem-solving and Jim's quick reactions to danger, this short film deserves more time to tell its story with its creature-slaying protagonists, and the ending hints at much more to come in the future for all of them.
