10 Horror Video Game Movies EVERYONE Wants To See
5. Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is one of the most cinematic-with-a-capital-C video games of the past decade - a haunting, mesmerising horror-fantasy odyssey following Senua, a warrior who fights her way to Helheim while struggling with intense psychosis.
It's incredibly easy to appreciate how Hellblade's striking visual style, emphasis on atmospheric sound, and iconic lead character could easily make for a highly compelling movie while also offering an uncommonly deep meditation on mental health in the horror arena.
Plus, the casting for Senua is already done - given that the game's lead actress, Melina Juergens, won numerous awards for her performance and is a statuesque part of the franchise in her own right, why look to anyone else to play Senua on-screen?
Furthermore, a Hellblade movie could be realistically made for a mid-budget price tag of, say, around $50 million, assuming it was as modestly scaled as the source material of course.
Given that the so-so gameplay is by far the most criticised aspect of both Hellblade games, why not take it away entirely and simply let audiences savour the audio-visual experience?
