10 Huge MCU Casting Rumours For Marvel's Phase 4

6. Hailee Steinfeld As Hawkeye

Hailee Steinfeld made a huge impact as a youngster in 2010's True Grit, and exploded onto the blockbuster scene with the well-received Bumblebee. Her future in Hollywood is looking bright, and Marvel Studios is hoping to capitalise on that by casting the actress as Kate Bishop, a.k.a. the MCU's new Hawkeye.

That passing of the mantle will take place in the Disney+ TV series of the same name, but there's been a slight problem which is slowing down the process. After signing a deal to star in Apple TV's Dickinson, Steinfeld's contract stops her from appearing on other streaming services, and that's something her agents are now trying to figure out.

As a result, we've since heard that Marvel Studios is exploring alternatives, but Steinfeld remains their top choice to replace Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.

This would be a role Steinfeld would be locked into for potentially the next decade or so, but she's said to be interested, and Kevin Feige is strongly pushing for her to join the MCU. With any luck, the stars will align, and she'll be our new Hawkeye, but nothing is set in stone quite yet.
