It just doesn't seem like a natural fit on the surface, but considering the fact it's for Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder, perhaps we shouldn't be overly shocked.

Thor: Ragnarok was a game-changer for the franchise and a critical hit, so the filmmaker talking Bale into playing a character described online as an "intergalactic villain" isn't at all hard to believe.

However, while that sounds like it could be referring to anyone from Galactus to Beta Ray Bill, Dario Agger - the villainous President of Roxxon Energy with the ability to transform into a Minotaur - seems like the far more likely option. In the comic books, he's the Mighty Thor's (Natalie Portman) greatest foe, and Bale would be able to channel American Psycho in a big way here.

The trades have pretty much confirmed that Bale will be part of Love and Thunder's eclectic cast, so it's now just a case of waiting to see who he ends up playing.
