10 Huge MCU Casting Rumours For Marvel's Phase 4

5. Owen Wilson As Kang The Conqueror

Owen Wilson is another very unexpected addition to the MCU, and the actor has actually been spotted on the set of Disney+ TV series Loki. While he's playing an agent of the TVA (the Time Variance Authority, a police force of sorts tasked with protecting the timeline), one very intriguing rumour points to there being more to his character than meets the eye.

That claims the actor is actually/also playing the villainous Kang the Conqueror, a character who has menaced both The Avengers and Fantastic Four over the years. Given his complicated and convoluted history (his past self was Young Avengers member Iron Lad at one point), using Loki as his origin story before having his future self show up as a bona fide baddie isn't exactly a stretch.

After all, it would be one heck of a twist for Wilson to be introduced as an affable member of the TVA and someone trying to take down the God of Mischief before Loki tempts him down a much darker path! Don't get us wrong, this would be an unorthadox casting decision, but it's also one which has the potential to pay off in a big way further into Phase 4 and beyond.
