10 Huge Movies Already Confirmed For 2020 And Beyond

1. 100 Years

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3
E. Remy Martin & Co/Louis XIII

Release Date: 18 November 2115

Billed as "the movie you will never see", 100 Years was written by John Malkovich and directed by Robert Rodriguez, and right now, it's sat in a high-tech safe surrounded by bulletproof glass, where it will stay until 18 November 2115 - the day of the movie's premiere.

As such, nobody knows what it's about. Not a single person alive right now will live to see it (barring any toddlers who live to an astonishingly old age). 1000 people from around the world have been given a ticket to the premiere, which they can hand down to their descendants - and they'll be the first people to witness it.

100 Years isn't a huge blockbuster, but the cultural significance is bears cannot be understated. It will give people in the future a slice of history in its purest form, a window into the past that's more tangible than a photo, or a family story.

So while you'll never get to see 100 Years, just think: in 2115, some random internet troll will comment about how stupid films were in 2015. It's nice to know that some practices will never die.

Any other far-off movies you're looking forward to? Let us know in the comments section!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
