For those in the know, there are few Star Wars characters funnier than Willrow Hood.

Hood appears very very briefly in The Empire Strikes Back as a citizen of the floating city above Bespin. As Lando Calrissian and Leia are running through the city corridors as it is evacuated, this guy in an orange jumpsuit passes in front of them.

What's he carrying under his left arm? An ice cream maker.

It was surely never intended this way, but Hood developed a massive cult following thanks to his frantic efforts to rescue his favourite frozen treat.

But, as with everything in Star Wars, there's more to this guy than meets the eye.

Thanks to the expanded universe, we now know that Wood was a gas miner working for a Rebellion-sympathetic company. The "ice cream maker" was actually a hard drive full of data on the corporation's clients.

Hood was destroying it so it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands.

Who knows what sort of carnage the Empire could have unleashed with such sensitive information in their possession?

After all this time and mockery, it turns out that our boy was actually a massive hero.
