Making it to the Hollywood A-list is incredibly difficult. Staying there is even harder. While the likes of Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Sandra Bullock and Leonardo DiCaprio have remained enduringly popular stars for decades now, there are plenty of former A-listers that have seen their star wane alarmingly, with Mel Gibson and Nicolas Cage two of the more prominent names. Jennifer Lawrence recently completed her meteoric rise to stardom in the space of a few years, but it isn't always that easy. Being launched in at the deep end didn't go so well for former 'next big things' Sam Worthington and Taylor Kitsch. Similarly, it took the well-respected likes of Samuel L Jackson, Gary Oldman and Christian Bale years of hard work and dedication to reach the top of the mountain. Whether it be an actor that has grafted away for decades without a big break, names that are well-known on television but have yet to crack the movie business or popular journeymen that have still to become household names, this article will take a look at ten hugely talented actors that should be bigger stars.
