9. Timothy Olyphant
Timothy Olyphant has yet to successfully make the transition from popular television actor to bona-fide movie star, despite the undoubted personality and charisma he brings to his signature role as Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens on Justified, one of the most consistently entertaining shows on television. With the sixth season set to be the last, hopefully the actor will be able to transition his immense likeability and screen presence to the movie business. As well as Justified, Olyphant also played the co-leading role in HBO's Deadwood, which deserves its reputation as one of the greatest television shows ever made. Unfortunately, the actor hasn't been well-served by his choice of big-screen roles. Before his small-screen breakthrough as Seth Bullock, Olyphant's highest-profile roles were supporting parts in genre pieces Scream 2, Gone In 60 Seconds, Dreamcatcher and The Girl Next Door. Since then, he has also played the underwritten villain of Live Free or Die Hard, the titular character in the crushingly dull Hitman, played another Sheriff in decent horror remake The Crazies and offered solid support in failed franchise-starter I Am Number Four. With Justified set to bow out next year at the height of its popularity, there is no better time for the 45 year-old to make the jump into the Hollywood big leagues. Five seasons of the show have proven that Olyphant is equally adept at action, comedy and drama and hopefully he will be able to bag better parts with his stock at an all-time high.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
