8. Wonka - A Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Prequel
I liked this movie alright when I saw the old version, but then I saw the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp one and I was like Yes! This is the movie I was looking for. What a fascinating character, this Willy Wonka. How did he come to be? Find out in
WONKA. Think of all the questions you had during the Chocolate Factory films. What kinds of business loans did Wonka take out to build his candy empire? Did he start a simple store as a simple man, or was he independently wealthy right off the bat? Who did he crush on his way to the top? And of course, the biggest issue with the practices of Willy Wonka: the Oompa-Loompas. How did this man enslave an entire race? Did he establish some sort of Heart of Darkness-esque relationship with those little orange people (Mistah Wonka, he dead)? There are so many incredible possibilities here that I think NOT making this movie would be straight up immoral.
