10 Iconic Actors Who Almost Played Batman Villians

6. Al Pacino As Two-Face - Batman: The Animated Series

Batman: TAS completely nailed the origin story of Two-Face, and managed to convey the scarring of Harvey Dent in a way that wouldn’t traumatise an entire generation of children. Actor Richard Moll was cast as Harvey Dent / Two-Face for the part, and he did a great job portraying the psychological break of the character.

The showrunners originally had someone else in mind for the role, though. To them, Al Pacino was the dream actor for the role, and he’s the one they first approached. Sadly for them – and us – he wasn’t interested, but the episode still contains a nod to his performance in Dog Day Afternoon.

When Harvey robs a bookie during the second episode he blurts out “For the next five minutes, I’m in control!”, which Pacino also said in Dog Day. Pacino playing Two-Face would have been amazing in more ways than we can count, but maybe it would have been a little distracting too.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
