10 Iconic Batman Comics That Should Be Movies (But Won't Ever Be)
8. Batman: Year 100
Gotham seems pretty messed up now, but that's nothing compared to what the city will look like in the future. Without Bruce Wayne hanging around to keep the peace, the seedy metropolis has descended into pure anarchy, but there's a glimmer of hope on the horizon... Batman: Year 100 is one of those rare Batman tales that doesn't even feature the Caped Crusader or anyone we know for that matter, but that doesn't mean his presence isn't felt throughout. Inspired by the legends of old, a new Batman rises up to restore order and keep the spirit of the Dark Knight alive in Gotham. Paul Pope's dystopian take on the Batman mythology is wholly unique within the character's history, but the central story stays true to the idea of the Dark Knight and his purpose. DC movies are generally considered to be darker than their rivals, but it's doubtful than even Warner Bros would touch source material as gritty as this, especially without core characters such as Bruce Wayne present to draw in audiences. Studios tend to avoid risks as it can be potentially bad for business and it's hard to imagine a Batman movie riskier than this. Grow a pair DC and make this happen!
