10 Iconic Comic Book Movie Moments Not In The Script
1. Post-Credits Shawarma - The Avengers
The Avengers' famous post-credits scene features the superhero supergroup chowing down on some tasty shawarma following the Battle of New York, but this wasn't part of the original plan at all.
Though the sequence is seemingly set-up by a line a few minutes earlier - where Tony Stark tells his superhero comrades, "Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here" - that line itself was ad-libbed by Robert Downey Jr.
As for the post-credits scene itself? It was an ultra-last-minute addition to the film, being quickly conceived by Joss Whedon and shot the day after the movie's world premiere. It was quickly attached to prints of the movie before they were distributed, and the result is a wonderfully expectation-defying credits tag.
