10 Iconic Comic Book Movie Moments That Were Totally Improvised
6. Thor Ragnarok - A Friend from Work
It's safe to say that Chris Hemsworth's journey as Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, has been rather bumpy.
However, that all changed in 2017 when Taika Waititi took control of the third film in Thor's solo series. Thor: Ragnarok elevated the character to a new status and made him surprisingly funny.
Waititi has a background with comedy and encouraged Chris Hemsworth to make Thor likeable. With a new haircut and a missing Mjolnir, Thor was stripped back to the basics and his character finally shined.
At Comic-Con, the cast of Ragnarok admitted that almost 95% of the film was improvised. But, the most memorable line never actually came from any of the actors. When forced to fight in a gladiator arena, Thor discovers that his opponent is none other than the Hulk. Thor screams with ecstasy as he says: "He's a friend from work."
When filming that scene on set, a child visiting the crew through the make-a-wish foundation suggested that brilliant line - much to the delight of Hemsworth and Waititi.
