10 Iconic Comic Book Movie Moments That Were Totally Improvised
3. Deadpool - Weasel's Reaction
Deadpool shocked the whole word when it was released back in 2016. A mature rated superhero film full of violence, swearing and crude humor always seemed like a risky decision. But a move that reaped all the rewards.
At the 2016 worldwide box-office, Deadpool earned an impressive ninth place with $782 million and, in the process, broke records for a February release.
Ryan Reynolds long advocated for a Deadpool film as he stressed the need to bring justice to Wade Wilson's status after his disappointing cameo in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009). Deadpool was exactly what Reynolds ordered as the film gave him the freedom to express his wacky and inappropriate personality.
But it was not only Ryan Reynolds that excelled from the film's mature freedom. T.J. Miller, who played Deadpool's confidant, Weasel, was heavily encouraged to ad-lib many of his lines considering his comedic background.
One of the most memorable scenes in the film is a result of brilliant improvisation. As Wade Wilson reveals his disfigured face, Weasel's reaction was entirely created on the spot by T.J. Miller.
Weasel describes Wade Wilson's face as an "avocado that had sex with an older, more disgusting avocado." Weasel continues to hilariously insult Wade Wilson, even comparing him to Freddy Krueger.
