3. Spock

Spock's timeline in the original Star Trek stated he was born in 2230 to Vulcan ambassador father Sarek and human mother Amanda Grayson and was raised on Vulcan. In 2266 he joined the Starship Enterprise as First Officer under Captain James Kirk on its five-year mission. He goes on to die in the second film The Wrath of Khan before being resurrected in the third film The Search for Spock.

His continuity becomes slightly altered in the fifth film The Final Frontier when we discover he has a half-brother Sybok, and in the television series Discovery, when we find out he also had an adopted sister Michael Burnham. Despite being raised with them, Spock never mentions either of them during the original television series.

Spock's timeline completely changes in the J. J. Abrams reboot films where he joins Starfleet in 2255 and attains the role of Commander by 2258, meeting Kirk when he is his instructor. They answer a distress call from the planet Vulcan and find out it is under attack from a Romulan, Nero, who came back 129 years from the future followed by an elderly Spock to destroy Vulcan as Spock had failed to save Romulus in the future. This sets off an alternative continuity.

Spock and Kirk go on to encounter Khan in this reality, but manage to stop him without Spock dying, and they continue to start the five-year mission on the Enterprise six years early in 2260.
