10 Iconic Movie Heroes Who Deserved Way Better Deaths

9. Corporal Dwayne Hicks - Alien 3

Alien 3 Hicks Has there ever been such a blatant instance of screwing over the fans for absolutely no reason than here in Alien 3? Having survived the events of the second movie, then, Corporal Dwayne Hicks - who proved himself to be a great partner to the series' central protagonist Ellen Ripley - finds himself, alongside Newt, a rescued child, in cryosleep, drifting through space. What adventures await our brave heroes next? None, actually. Why, you say? Is everybody going home happy to start a family or something? No. Not that at all, actually. Everybody is dead. Well, Hicks and Newt are dead, anyway. In what has to be the most irritating instance of multiple characters being killed off-screen in the history of motion pictures, the filmmakers decided that there was no room in the third Alien movie for Hicks, and instead of trying to find a suitable way for his character to be removed from the story, they just killed him off at the start - a face-hugger murders both him and Newt off-screen. Worst of all, this wasn't even done because Michael Biehn didn't want to to reprise his role - he totally did! Blasphemy, I say!
