10 Iconic Movie Moments (That Were Only Added At The Last Minute)

1. The T-Rex Saves The Day - Jurassic Park

The Iconic Scene: Steven Spielberg has crafted some incredibly iconic movie moments in his time - the shark POV, E.T. riding in front of the moon, Indiana Jones emerging from a fridge and looking up at (it may be hated, but boy is it iconic) - but one of the most striking has to be the end of Jurassic Park. Cinema hardly gets better than a T-Rex roaring as a "When dinosaurs ruled the Earth" banner drifts down. It's deus ex machina at its finest - just as it looks like Dr. Grant and co. are going to be raptor chow, the dino-king bites down and saves the day. Who cares that there's no conceivable way for the massive T-Rex to actually get into the Welcome Centre - that scene is awesome. Why Was It Last Minute? Jurassic Park could have been a very different movie, with Spielberg originally intending the prehistoric beasts to be realised through mostly practical means. It's a good thing he changed his mind, because it was the awe of how incredible the CGI monsters looked that inspired this final scene. The ending as planned was going to see the humans outsmarting the velociraptors, which in retrospect is both anti-climactic and a disservice to the apex predator. But, feeling the jaw-dropping T-Rex needed a stronger farewell than its brief cameo chasing Gallimimus, the director complete re-jigged the ending. What other iconic movie moments weren't added until the last minute? Let us know in the comments below.
