4. Peeling Off Your Face - Poltergeist

Yet another classic 80s movie set to return to our screens this year in the shape of a remake - this time starring Sam Rockwell and directed by the relative newcomer Gil Kenan of Monster House fame - is Poltergeist. The original - executive produced and co-written by Steven Spielberg - scared the pants off countless kids back when it was released, with a neat blend of practical effects and computer generated imagery depicting the events in a haunted house sitting atop an ancient Indian burial ground. One terrifying scene involved a man hallucinating peeling off his own face whilst looking in the bathroom mirror.
