3. The Jedi
We all know that A New Hope focuses around Jedi to be, Luke Skywalker, as well as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, who shows Luke the ways of the force.
During the moment where Kenobi gives Luke his father's old lightsaber, he says: "for over a thousand generations, the Jedi knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the old Republic... before the dark times... before the Empire." However, even in the rest of the original trilogy we don't actually see anymore Jedi, besides Master Yoda.
Divisive though the prequels may be, we are shown the Jedi Order, even if it is just before their downfall.
