10 Important Milestones The Marvel Cinematic Universe Must Pass

6. Reshuffling The Avengers

It should come as no surprise to learn that the MCU Avengers' roster is significantly different to their original line-up from 1963, and even less so that in the intervening 51 years there have been a fair few changes, complete overhauls and countless spin-off teams to boot. So it stands to reason that, what with the fluid, ever-changing nature of a shared universe and high-paid actors' contracts having a time/film limit on them, the Avengers we know now won't be the Avengers we'll always know, and it's likely that within the next decade we'll see a completely different set of misfits and gadabouts take up the mantle of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and how audiences take to their new heroes may well depend on how tactfully these replacements are made. Thankfully, Marvel already seem to be one step ahead, as Avengers: Age of Ultron has already likely made two new young additions to the team in Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. As relative latecomers to the MCU they'll probably stick around a little longer than their forbears, but their presence in one of the first Avengers stories should still cement their places as legitimate members once the new recruits come piling in.
