10 Most Important Star Wars Characters Not In The Movies

8. Garm bel Iblis

For those readers who have played the game €˜Star Wars: The Force Unleashed€™, this is likely to be a recognizable name. Iblis was a member of the Galactic Senate during the years between Episode III and IV. He witnessed the Emperor€™s gradual usurping of power from the Senate, granting himself more and more power. Iblis was one of the most vocal and prolific opponents of Palpatine€™s diabolical rise to power, and as such was an instrumental player in the formation of the Rebel Alliance. An interesting rivalry between bel Iblis and Mon Mothma also occurred. Iblis believed that Mon Mothma would usurp power once the Empire was defeated, and even suggested that she would replace the Palpatine as the dictatorial leader of the Galaxy. However, these charges were later proven false, and he eventually mended his rift with her. His main role was providing the star fleet for the Rebel Alliance, which he did until he parted ways with the Rebel Alliance, instead choosing to fight his own private war with the Empire. That said, without him, the Alliance would€™ve had a much smaller force in combatting the Empire, despite the number of soldiers provided by Mon Mothma.
