10 Most Important Star Wars Characters Not In The Movies

6. Kyle Katarn

Katarn was an Imperial Stormtrooper who later joined the Rebellion, after learning that the Empire killed his parents. In that role, he completed numerous missions on behalf of Mon Mothma and other Rebels, especially those missions deemed too dangerous for ordinary members of the Alliance. His most significant contribution was his contribution to Operation Skyhook: he snuck into an Imperial Facility on the planet Danuta and stole critical data on the first Death Star. These events, which took place in the game 'Star Wars: Dark Forces', took place shortly before the events of Episode IV. Thus, the opening scenes featuring the Empire, the Rebellion, and the search for the Death Star plans, wouldn€™t have happened without the actions of Kyle Katarn. After the events of Episode VI, he became a Jedi and helped rebuild the Jedi Council. He is therefore one of the few characters to experience a relatively positive end, as many other characters endured many worse fates. In the end, Kyle Katarn€™s contributions to the Star Wars Universe cannot be ignored. Without him, the Rebel Alliance might not have acquired the Death Star plans, and would€™ve had a much harder time challenging the iron-fisted grip that the Empire exerted on the Galaxy.
