10 Incredible Actors Who Went Bad To Win An Oscar
6. Christoph Waltz - Inglourious Basterds
Is there anyone who doesnt think Christoph Waltzs Oscar winning role as a disturbing Nazi Jew Hunter is the best part of Inglourious Basterds? Hans Landa is as courteous as he is heinous. Waltz was pretty much a complete unknown to American audiences at the time, unless you were a hardcore fan of German cinema, which made him a simply stunning find. Bravo Mr. Tarantino.
Waltzs portrayal is cold and calculating and yet tinged with a modicum of charm that makes him simply light up the screen. And you get the sense that hes having a blast playing such a monster. Waltz eventually accepted his first of two Best Supporting Oscars.
