6. Christoph Waltz - Inglourious Basterds

Is there anyone who doesn€™t think Christoph Waltz€™s Oscar winning role as a disturbing Nazi €œJew Hunter€ is the best part of Inglourious Basterds? Hans Landa is as courteous as he is heinous. Waltz was pretty much a complete unknown to American audiences at the time, unless you were a hardcore fan of German cinema, which made him a simply stunning find. Bravo Mr. Tarantino.

Waltz€™s portrayal is cold and calculating and yet tinged with a modicum of charm that makes him simply light up the screen. And you get the sense that he€™s having a blast playing such a monster. Waltz eventually accepted his first of two Best Supporting Oscars.
