Batman. Both characters are seemingly dapper individuals who harbour a darker, more elemental side to their personalities, one which has to be concealed from the public with respect to their "known" personas. In 2005, Bale even spoke on the comparison himself, noting, "There may be a kind of comical link. Bateman and Batman are both 'American Psychos' in a sense. What the hell kind of man decides to dress up as a bat and run around the city? There's got to be something a little bit loose in there."
