10 Incredible Follow-Ups To Iconic Movies (That Nobody Saw)

5. Legend

Tim Curry Legend
Fox

After an impressive back-to-back display of cinematic mastery with Alien and Bladerunner, you'd assume that moviegoers would be keen to lap-up anything that Ridley Scott threw their way. It would seem though that a dark, fantasy epic about endangered unicorns wasn't exactly what they were looking for after the grim science fiction he'd given them before.

Sure, it's a tad muddled in the story department, but Legend is a solid fantasy romp that shines with incredible production design that still looks and sounds fantastic to this day. Ridley Scott's commitment to using practical effects wherever possible is what makes Legend such a great piece of fantasy cinema and has contributed to its timeless appearance.

The cinematography is gorgeous and the cast give themselves over to the material, especially Tim Curry who (despite being under heavy prosthesis) completely steals the show as the film's villain Darkness.

It made just shy of 23.5 million dollars worldwide at the box-office, which wouldn't be anything to scoff at, but the film's production budget was 24 million, meaning Legend didn't even break even.

It may not be for everyone, but Curry's performance alone is worth the time, I guarantee you.
