10 Incredible Horror Movies You’ll Never Watch Again (And Why)

Karyn Kusama's The Invitation was one of the most intoxicating horror movies of 2016. Following a man, Will, and his girlfriend attending a dinner party hosted by the guy's ex wife, it's one of those rare movies where you have no idea where it's going.

Though it starts off relatively harmonious, things take a turn when the dinner party is revealed to be a recruiting opportunity to join a cult-like group called 'The Invitation'. Though they insist that it's just a group to help grieving people, there's the inkling that something more sinister is afoot, but the audience doesn't know who to trust.

Obviously, being duped into a cult pitch isn't a great way to make a first impression, but Will is clearly shown to be dealing with his own demons after losing his son in a tragic accident. He's not the most trustworthy main character to follow, and the film is coy with who is the danger in this situation, and whether the story is going to opt for a more psychological or explicit outcome.

It's a great ride to be on, but once the endgame is revealed and the climax answers your questions, it's difficult to replicate the film's mystery on a rewatch, which is a huge part of the experience.
