In the early days of cinema, comedy was completely different. Without dialogue, actors were forced to communicate humour visually, using their physicality. 2015's Shaun The Sheep Movie - based on the British claymation series of the same name - absolutely capitalises on this classic form, celebrating the sight gag and all of its potential.

The story is simple: Shaun the Sheep plots to have a day off by mischievously tricking his farmer, but when his trick backfires he's got to navigate the perils of the big city in order to try and save him.

With absolutely no dialogue, Shaun The Sheep Movie's jokes are universal, appealing to children and adults alike. There are no dated pop culture references or obvious appeals to a younger demographic: its story is told through animated body language and exaggerated (and frequently hilarious) facial expressions.
