10 Incredible Sci-Fi Movie Universes We Need More Of

7. Dredd

Mad Max Fury Road
Lionsgate

This is a truly heart-breaking case of likely never going to happen, as the law enforcing, helmet loving badass has had two financially failed attempts at the big screen; but it doesn’t stop us from hankering over another dose of this post-nuclear cyberpunk world.

With the 2012 iteration offering up grizzly slo-mo violence and a true adaptation of the titular character, one could only dream to see a modern on-screen imagining of the Cursed Earth, with mutants, telepathics and all. There is so much to explore, even just outside the thick steel doors of the super structures that are mere flecks in the unfathomably enormous Mega Cities.

With a collective of comics filled to brim with stories and settings, the Dredd universe would be rife with endless opportunity for fans of the comics, films and sci-fi alike. We’d sure love to see Judge Dredd give his trusty Lawgiver another go, as he drift through the streets of Mega City One in his Lawmaster motorbike – he most definitely is the law.
