10 Incredible Shots That Totally Defined Movies

8. "Here's Johnny!" - The Shining

Love it or hate it, Stanley Kubrick's masterful horror film isn't likely to be forgotten by anyone who has seen it, rife with memorably haunting, provocative imagery, and amazing performances as it is.

Though the visual of young Danny Torrance (Danny Lloyd) staring down the Grady twins (Lisa and Louise Burns) is all kinds of visceral, it can't quite top the sheer enervating beauty of Jack Torrance's (Jack Nicholson) face peering through the door he's just cleaved to pieces with an axe during the film's climax.

If his iconic quip "Here's Johnny!" - improvised by Nicholson, no less - is seared into our collective pop-culture consciousness, what what it be without Nicholson's horrifyingly bug-eyed, full-tilt deranged face leering intently at his terrified wife Wendy (Shelley Duvall)?
