6. Zao - Die Another Day
Die Another Day was easily the most sci-fi influenced of all the Bond movies, even surpassing the 'master human race in space' plot of
Moonraker and it really shows in more subtle ways, such as the construction of the characters, namely that of lead henchvillain Zao (Rick Yune), a North Korean spy and terrorist traded for Bond eighteen months ago. Unfortunately Bond left Zao with some permanent reminders of their encounter in the form of several small diamonds embedded in his face as 'expensive acne'. It's technically not a fashion choice but it's definitely up there with terrible decisions by the producers to give a possibly scary villain a random and utterly bizzare attribute. Diamonds in your face, ladies and gentlemen. Because you're worth it.
