10 Incredibly Disturbing Horror Movie Moments

Almost the entirety of this film is a disturbing watch. But by modern standards, the stuff that we see - whilst still being horrible - isn't too shocking anymore. Death and violence in film is something we have all grown accustomed to. But one of the worst elements about this found footage feature is the excessive amount of animal-related violence that occurs within it.

'Snuff film' is a term that would be thrown around by horror titles to drum up controversy, and therefore free publicity. In the case of Cannibal Holocaust, it could easily be argued that it fits into this category, as it features real death within it.

The amount of animals that are tortured and killed in the film is troublesome enough, as watching any animal die in a movie is often profoundly upsetting. But what makes Cannibal Holocaust worse is the fact that six individual animals are killed on screen and shown in full view.

A coati, turtle, tarantula, boa constrictor, squirrel monkey and pig are all victims in this project.

Art may be necessary, but this was inexcusable.
