10 Incredibly Popular Movie Heroes Who Are Totally Overrated

1. James Bond - The James Bond Series

Suave and sophisticated, the heroic James Bond has been stunning audiences for decades, fighting criminal masterminds (often single-handedly) across the globe with an effortless cool. He's the ultimate spy, unsurpassed in the annals of movie history. Right? Well, yes and no. For one thing, it's a whole lot easier to take down criminal organizations when you have the backing of much larger organizations with vaster resources at their disposal - Bond not only has British intelligence MI6 backing him up, but often the support of the CIA as well, and on more than one occasion they've sent in the troops to help him get out of a scrape. Another handy advantage which could apply to anyone in similar situations is to be equipped with just the right gadget/modified car for the task at hand - particularly if you're good at getting caught by the people you're supposed to be taking down, as Bond certainly seems to be from his track record. Add to this a misogynistic womanising streak which more often than not results in the deaths of the women he beds and a long term problem with alcohol abuse and the result equals one of the most overrated heroes in movie history. On the plus side, these qualities just happen to make him one of the most entertaining to watch, which isn't such a bad thing after all. Agree or disagree with the choices on this list? We're sure plenty of you do - why not post a comment below?
