10 Incredibly Talented Actors Who Should Really Call It A Day
8. Johnny Depp
Was anyone surprised that Johnny Depp is playing Tonto in The Lone Ranger? As soon as I saw the trailer, my first thought was this: oh great, another wacky and obscure character played by Johnny Depp. Didnt see that coming.
Over the years, Johnny Depp has probably become best known for his collaborations with Tim Burton, such as with Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland, Dark Shadows, and more that I have probably missed. Some of these are better than others (Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood). But enough is enough already! This man must spend more time in the makeup room than most of his lady co-stars.
There is no denying that Johnny has talent. And, although middle-aged, he still has youthful energy, and he is at an age where some actors have their best roles. (See Gary Oldman). And lets be real, Johnny probably wont be quitting acting anytime soon. His movies make a ton of money, and he is one of the highest paid actors out there. Almost every movie fan (including myself) will go to see the latest Burton/Depp collaboration. But, it really seems to be such a waste of talent to do a movie like Dark Shadows, when I know he has the talent for something like Donnie Brasco or Blow. And after Pirates of the Caribbean 18, you may see where I am coming from.
Come on Johnny. Youre better than that.
