10 Inevitable Movie Reboots And How To Make Them Not Suck

4. The Crow

The CrowThe Original: Stylistically fantastic adaptation of the classic comic book series, best known for the death of star Brandon Lee during its production. How To Make It Not Suck: The pitch for a reboot of this movie has been doing the rounds for years, with Blade director Stephen Norrington at one point attached with what was described as a "grittier" approach that would eschew the hyper-stylised gothic nature of the original in favour of handheld camerawork and a more grounded narrative. That's the key here; though The Crow reboot is bound to its source material, it should try to hew as far as possible from the Alex Proyas version, as otherwise it's going to surely court accusations of trying to trample on Lee's legacy. There are plenty of ways to make the movie work, but if it's going to follow the style of the first film, then there's not really much point.
