10 Infamous Movie Plot Holes That Actually Have Legitimate Answers

7. Prometheus - Why David Did Random Things?

prometheus feedback Another common complaint about the movie focuses on the android of the movie, played by Michael Fassbender. The complaint comes from the fact that, without knowing where they were, or what kind of consequences his actions would have, he just seems to do things that end up affecting the whole mission. Like when he puts some of the black goo in Charlie's drink, or when he explored the ship and started touching things for no apparent reason. The Reasonable Explanation... This one requires for you to use your brain for a moment. Remember that David was commanded by his creator, Peter Wayland, to investigate on things that could help him live for more time, and, if you watch the movie again, you'll see him talking with Wayland before giving the goo to Charlie. The same thing can explain why David wandered around the ship, touching stuff and experimenting; you must also remember that David spent the whole trip learning the Eingeneer's possible language and writing, so he probably knew more about what he was doing that what the audience gives him credit for. I think that with this things Ridley Scott believed that the audience would be smart enough to tie things together and come to an actual conclusion after the film ended. Clearly he was wrong.
