10 Insane Facts You Didn't Know About Christopher Lee

9. He Was An OSS Spy During WWII

There is a story about Christopher Lee that involves his Lord Of The Rings director, Peter Jackson, and the day they filmed the deleted Return Of The King scene where Grima Wormtongue stabs Lee€™s Saruman in the back. According to Jackson, Lee instructed the director on how Saruman should react when stabbed. The story goes that Jackson wanted Saruman to scream out in pain, when Lee asked Jackson, €œHave you any idea what kind of noise happens when somebody€™s stabbed in the back? Because I do.€ Terrifying, until you realise Lee hadn€™t lived a second life as a serial killer: he was actually a British secret agent in WWII. Though he never spilled on what he did during the war, citing his being forbade from revealing state secrets, Lee did once remark, €œLet's just say I was in Special Forces and leave it at that.€ Now the people of the world will never know the exact number of Nazis Christopher Lee killed, but, judging by the Jackson anecdote, you can bet it was definitely enough.
