3. T'Challa's Sneakers Have "Heir T'Chaka" Written On The Soles - Black Panther

One of the most memorable gags in Black Panther sees Shuri (Letitia Wright) teasing her brother T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) about his iffy choice of footwear ("What are those!?"), before gifting him the sound-absorbent, self-lacing "sneakers" she created.

Before he puts the shoes on, however, fans are given a split-second glimpse at the soles, which have some Wakandan text on them, as was created specifically for the movie by production designer Hannah Beachler.

It didn't take long for fans to figure out the Wakandan alphabet featured throughout the movie and translate it to English, and so it was revealed that the shoes had the words "heir" and "T'Chaka" written on them.

This is clearly a reference to T'Challa being the son of T'Chaka (John Kani), and some fans have also speculated it might be an in-joke related to Air Jordans, given how much "heir" sounds like "air."
