10 Insane Movie Theories (That Are Clearly Utter Bull)

9. It€™s In The Same Universe As Blade Runner - Prometheus

Prom2The Crazy Theory: Prometheus wasn't just a quasi-prequel to Alien, but to Blade Runner too. Last year's critically liked, fan despised blockbuster ended up linking together Ridley Scott€™s two biggest sci-fi. Why It Can€™t Be True: There€™s so many reasons. The theory stipulates that the buildings behind the hologram of old Weyland are the skeletons of 2019 LA. Ignoring that the timeline doesn't match up at all - Blade Runner is set a good eighty years before Prometheus and androids have devolved in that time - that€™s a tenuous link. The buildings are typical sci-fi; nothing about them screams Blade Runner, beyond the orange colour (which was chosen to contrast Earth with LV-223). This leaves us really with just the easter eggs in the film, most concrete a note hidden in the DVD that shows Weyland acknowledge Eldon Tyrell. This makes Prometheus a straight sequel to Blade Runner, despite all other evidence pointing to something different. With so much conflicting arguments it€™s clear these are just fan pleasing in jokes taken out of hand. For now at least. Who knows what€™ll happen when the upcoming sequels to both films arrive.
