8. Forrest Jr. Isn't A Gump - Forrest Gump
The Crazy Theory: Aside from Jennys word, theres no real proof young Forrest is actually Forrest Gump Jr. She was quite the promiscuous lady and given that she needed someone to look after her son once she was gone, the newly turned up Forrest was as good as any. Boy, that makes the ending even more depressing.
Why It Cant Be True: Its clearly bull for the same reason many people will state it to be true; Jenny said so. Forrest Jr. isn't left on his fathers doorstep or dumped on him; Forrest finds him (inadvertently). At this point in the story Jenny just isn't the person to wrong the simple Gump. But thats all really relies on how you read the film. If only there was some concrete evidence. And, of course, I'm only musing that because I have some. Jennys son is called Forrest. If he wasn't our Forrests son, why was he named that? You could pop up and say its because she fondly remembers Forrest knowing full well he isn't the daddy, but I find that more than a little contrived. Like many theories on this list it only works if you have characters change motivations for no reason explicitly shown on screen.
