10 Insane Movie Theories (That Are Clearly Utter Bull)

4. Doc Was Trying To Kill Himself - Back To The Future

Bttf2The Crazy Theory: We all know Doc Brown is crazy. But just not how much; at the start of Back To The Future he almost willingly killed himself. You see, he didn't know if his time travel DeLorean would work. If it did, awesome. If not, he might as well die (and take poor Marty with him). That's pretty heavy. Why It Can€™t Be True: Well for starters it€™s more than a little dark for a BTTF, a series that dealt with incest in such a jovial manner. But let's not let semantics get in the way of what has thus far been a totally serious endeavour. Doc is clearly not suicidal. He€™s happy when the car hits 88 because his (later) life work hasn't been wasted (in the same way he€™s happy when Marty makes it back to 1985). And if he was suicidal why would he not only get Marty to film it, but potentially kill his young friend? And don€™t just say he was really crazy. From the way Doc€™s acting he doesn't really fit the psychopathic, kill a teenager type. The more conventional reading of the film has an even more disturbing way of showing the Doc was crazy; he didn't even realise he could have died. That is heavy.
