10 Insane Reasons Actors Didn't Return For Movie Sequels

3. Bruce Willis Wanted $1 Million A Day - The Expendables 3

Bruce Willis appeared in the first two Expendables movies as the shady CIA operative known as Mr. Church, and considering the vast majority of the existing cast returned for The Expendables 3, it was simply assumed Willis would be back too.

But the Die Hard star ended up sitting the threequel out, with reports claiming that Willis turned down an offer of $3 million to spend four days shooting in Bulgaria. Willis countered with $4 million - amounting to a whopping $1 million per day - which the production rejected.

This news was seemingly confirmed by franchise star Sylvester Stallone, who blasted Willis as "greedy" on social media, while announcing that he had been replaced by Harrison Ford, who played another CIA operative by the name of Max Drummer, effectively filling the Mr. Church role.

Ford was certainly a fitting replacement, though Willis being in a position to turn down $750,000 per day doing some very undemanding action film acting is absolutely wild.
