5. 'Hitch' Changed From 'The Last First Kiss' To Prevent Alienating Male Audiences

Hitch The smash hit Will Smith-starring rom-com Hitch was originally titled The Last First Kiss, and early research suggested that male audiences would be totally turned off by the title, as it sounds too feminine and not manly enough. Instead, they went with the more assertive and dynamic sounding Hitch, a better title albeit not one they should have arrived at for these reasons; after all, why target the film towards men at all? Surely if a girl is going to drag her partner to a rom-com, the title doesn't really matter? Sure, the fellas might be less resistant to it if the marketing campaign seems less-focused on all the flowery feelings and more on Will Smith being a smooth playa, but at the end of the day, if they're going to suffer through it, they're going to suffer through it either way.
