10 Insane Rumours For Upcoming Movies
8. Dr. Loomis Returns - Halloween Kills
It sure looks like Halloween Kills is set to be the series' most nostalgic entry to date, what with Kyle Richards returning to play the role of Lindsey Wallace, one of the kids Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) babysat back in the original movie.
The other child Laurie babysat, Tommy Doyle, will also be returning, albeit with Anthony Michael Hall taking the place of original actor Brian Andrews.
But there's a huge rumour that an altogether more legendary Halloween character will be returning in the new movie - Dr. Samuel Loomis.
Loomis is of course the psychiatrist who doggedly pursued Michael Myers throughout the original series, appearing in five of the first six movies and effectively being as much of a franchise protagonist as Laurie herself.
Sadly original Loomis actor Donald Pleasence died in 1995, shortly after shooting his role for Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, yet alleged reports from test screenings for Halloween Kills conducted last year state that Dr. Loomis will indeed return for a cameo appearance.
The scene will reportedly be a flashback set in 1978, where Loomis briefly interacts with Michael immediately after the events of the original film.
There's no word on whether CGI will be used to insert Pleasence's likeness into the film, but given the movie's relatively low budget, it's probably safe to assume we'll either get some over-the-shoulder shots of Loomis, or another actor may simply be cast in the role.
If it can respect Pleasence's legacy then it could certainly be a welcome dose of fan service, and ensure Loomis isn't lost in the shuffle given how the original Halloween sequels have all been jettisoned from the continuity.
